Baltimore - Dune - 10mm Patterned Cut Pile Carpet

Dune is a warm mid taupe-brown, a proper mid tone, not a pale, with Baltimore's mottled speckle giving it depth and movement across a floor. It is the natural step up from Sandstone: same warm family, but darker and browner, and it will hold its appearance in a busy house where Sandstone would need more attention. Against Marble and Dolomite, both of which are grey, Dune reads distinctly earthy and will warm a room those two would cool down. It sits well with timber, rattan, linen and brick, and with warm white or greige walls. It is less successful in a rigorously cool, monochrome interior, where the brown can look out of step. Dolomite is the equivalent mid tone on the grey side of the range.

This is the colour where Baltimore's character earns its keep. Belgotex build the range as a tufted patterned cut pile: a two-tone flecked surface tufted into the carpet rather than applied to it. A mid brown with a busy mottle is about as forgiving a floor as you can specify. Sand, soil, pet hair, dropped food and the worn lanes that develop on a staircase and along a hall runner are all genuinely difficult to see. That makes Dune a practical specification for stairs, entries, family rooms, home offices and rental properties, chosen for how it wears rather than how it looks.

The fibre is 100% Premium Solution Dyed Nylon. Because the pigment goes into the nylon while it is liquid, the colour is part of the strand and cannot be lifted off it. The carpet is stain proof and fade proof, survives strong cleaning chemistry, and does not lighten in sunlight. It is also anti-allergenic. A reinforced FusionBac backing stabilises the 4.0m broadloom for wide seam-free rooms and stair installations. Total thickness is 10.0mm, rated by Belgotex as Extra Heavy Duty Residential and Heavy Duty Commercial, with an AS ISO 9239-1 fire rating.

Warranty runs to 20 years residential and 10 years commercial, the longest Belgotex give on any carpet. Belgotex hold ISO 14001 certification and have set Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) targets; their solution dying process uses no water and the carpet is low VOC emitting.
