Grande 9.0 - Pacific Blackbutt - 9mm Hybrid Flooring

Think of Pacific Blackbutt as the daylight version of an Australian hardwood floor — a light wheat-blonde board with soft golden warmth and gentle, restrained variation rather than dramatic banding. It is a clear step lighter than Northern Spotted Gum and a touch more varied and less golden than Capri. It works beautifully in coastal and contemporary Sydney homes where the brief is bright but not cold, and it is one of the easiest boards here to match to existing blackbutt joinery or stairs. It will underdeliver if you want a floor with real drama or depth.

Light-warm floors are the compromise position, and they are popular for good reason: bright enough to open up a room, warm enough to stay comfortable, and varied enough to disguise everyday marks. Pacific Blackbutt reflects light well in south-facing rooms without the starkness of a whitewash, and its subtle figuring hides dust and fine scratching far better than Chalk or Bella will. It is a sound choice for open-plan living, hallways and bedrooms alike. In very high-traffic commercial entries a deeper board still hides more.

Underneath the decor, Grande 9.0 is a rigid SPC core carrying an LVT balance layer and a cushion pad, with 2mm of IXPE acoustic underlay already attached to the back — 9mm all up, and no separate underlay to buy or lay. The surface is protected by a 0.55mm wear layer and an anti-bacterial UV coating, and the 1500 x 230mm boards have micro-bevelled edges that define each plank once laid. They join on a precision click-lock profile and float over the existing floor. The core is waterproof, but a click-together floor is not a waterproof assembly and does not replace a waterproofing membrane — check with us before using it in a wet area.
