Natural Oak - 14/3mm Crosswood Engineered Timber Flooring

European oak in a herringbone block, left close to its natural colour. Where Blackbutt is even, oak is not. You get knots, visible medullary ray figure and a swing between pale honey and light tan across the floor. That variation is the reason people choose oak, and it is also why a herringbone lay in oak looks busier than the same pattern in an Australian hardwood. Worth seeing a full pack laid out before you commit, not one block.

14mm overall, with a 3mm sawn oak veneer over a seven layer plywood core. Blocks are 600 x 127mm with tongue and groove edges, so it is glued down rather than floated. Wire brushed, micro-bevelled on four sides, finished matt at 5 to 8 percent sheen.

The 3mm veneer is thick enough to be sanded and recoated, so there is a second life in the floor rather than a replacement.
