Crosswood Engineered Herringbone Flooring
Crosswood is HTT Flooring's engineered European oak herringbone, and the block size is what makes it herringbone rather than a plank range: 600mm long by 127mm wide, 14mm thick with a 3mm oak wear veneer. Ten colours.
Herringbone is a different job to lay than a plank floor. Every block is cut and set at an angle, the pattern has to be centred on the room before the first piece goes down, and the perimeter needs cutting to suit. It takes longer and costs more to install than a straight lay, which is worth knowing at quote stage rather than later. What you get for it is a floor that reads as a feature in its own right, which is why it turns up in entries, formal living rooms and hallways more than bedrooms.
The 3mm veneer sits between Bonita at 2mm and Quercus at 4mm, so the floor can be sanded and recoated over the years. Boards are graded ABCD with a 5 to 8 percent matte finish, micro bevel edges and a Tongue and Groove profile. A pack holds 24 pieces covering 1.8288 square metres at 16.5kg.
