Screen colours vary between devices and our descriptions are a guide only. Slight variation between production batches is normal, so we recommend ordering all material for a job at once.
Crosswood Brescia is the dark block in the herringbone range, a charcoal oak with a blue-grey cast and the grain showing through as a slightly lighter figure. Laid in herringbone the two directions of grain catch the light differently, so the pattern reads even in a colour this deep.
Dark herringbone is a formal floor. It belongs in an entry, a dining room or a large living room with pale walls and plenty of light, and it looks its best with brass, marble and white joinery. It shows dust and pale hair, and a small dark room with a dark floor gets smaller still.
Each block is 600mm long, 127mm wide and 14mm thick, with a 3mm European oak veneer over a plywood core, so a worn floor can be lightly sanded and recoated in future. The tongue and groove blocks go down by direct fix to the subfloor, the method HTT recommends for all its 14mm and 15mm engineered timber, and a micro bevel on all four edges keeps each block distinct in the pattern.
The coating is a 5 to 8 percent matt. Grade is ABCD, so knots and colour variation between blocks are part of the floor. Twenty-four blocks make a 1.8288m2 pack at 16.5kg. Wet slip is P3 to AS 4586:2013, and HTT's residential warranty is 25 years structural and 7 years on the finish.
