Screen colours vary between devices and our descriptions are a guide only. Slight variation between production batches is normal, so we recommend ordering all material for a job at once.
Crosswood Walnut is a warm red-brown block with strong dark streaking through the grain, the colour of American walnut in a herringbone pattern. It is redder than Cuban and lighter than Brescia, and the streaks make it the busiest of the dark blocks.
Walnut-toned herringbone is a traditional, formal floor. It suits period homes, dining rooms and large living spaces with cream or white walls, and it flatters brass, leather and antique timber. In a small room the red-brown turns heavy, and against grey joinery it fights, so plan the scheme around it.
Each block is 600mm by 127mm and 14mm thick with a 3mm veneer over a plywood core, which leaves room for a light sand and recoat later. Blocks carry a tongue and groove profile, fixed direct to the subfloor as HTT recommends for its 14mm and 15mm boards, with a micro bevel on all four edges.
A 5 to 8 percent matt finish keeps the sheen low. ABCD grading allows knots and colour variation between blocks, so lay from several packs at once. A pack is 24 blocks, 1.8288m2 and 16.5kg. It tested P3 for wet slip under AS 4586:2013. Residential warranty is 25 years structural and 7 years on the finish; not for wet areas.
