Here is a name that will mislead you if you trust it: Urban Limewash Oak is warm, not white. A true limewash reads cool and chalky, but this swatch is a soft golden-beige, with honey-tan boards sitting next to one distinctly paler cream plank and a faint khaki cast through the grain. Think sun-bleached honey rather than whitewashed grey. It is lighter and calmer than Paris Natural Oak and much warmer than Paris Summer Oak, which is the decor people usually mean when they ask for a limewash look. Choose it for a warm, light, Scandinavian-leaning floor; do not choose it expecting a cool grey-white.
A light warm floor is a safe middle path for most Australian homes: bright enough to open up a modest room, warm enough not to feel clinical, and mid-toned enough to be practical. The gentle board-to-board variation helps disguise the odd scratch, and the honey base hides dust noticeably better than any of the grey decors in this range. It handles a family hallway or open-plan kitchen well. In strong western afternoon light the gold in it will intensify, so test a sample at that time of day if the room faces that way.
Swish Oak Wideboard is engineered oak in its most generous format: 220mm wide by 2200mm long, 14mm thick overall, with a 4mm sawn oak wear veneer over a multi-ply core and a micro-bevelled edge on every board. Installation is floating over underlay using the Välinge 5G locking profile, with no glue required. The 4mm face is what gives this range its longevity argument. A thicker oak veneer can be sanded and refinished more times through its life than a 3mm one, which means the same floor can be brought back to new-looking several times rather than being at the end of the road after one restoration. Engineered timber does need acclimatisation on site before laying, so build a few days into the program before the installers start.
Manufactured to the E1 standard with VOC emissions under 5ppm, the range is a low-emission option for homes where that matters. It is also a natural product, so colour and grain vary from board to board and the tone will mature under natural light across the life of the floor. Treat that variation as part of the character you are buying rather than something to be matched perfectly, and always confirm your choice with a sample seen in your own light rather than on a monitor. Supply and install available across Sydney.
