Wool Carpet
Our Auburn Ridge range is 100% wool, in a scroll loop pile at 11.5mm, rated extra heavy duty residential and light duty commercial, and backed by a 15-year residential warranty. It comes in five colourways drawn from the Australian bush: Banksia, Gumnut, Lilly, Tea Tree and Waratah.
Wool earns its price in a room you actually sit in. It springs back instead of crushing flat, so furniture dents recover. It holds colour for decades rather than fading. It resists soiling naturally, without a chemical treatment that wears off. And it regulates humidity and temperature in a way synthetic fibre simply cannot - which is why a wool floor feels different underfoot the moment you step on it. If you are carpeting a main bedroom or a formal lounge and want it to still look right in fifteen years, wool is the answer.
Cut Pile and Loop Pile
Cut pile has the yarn tips sheared open, giving the soft, even surface most people picture when they think of carpet. It suits bedrooms and formal lounges, where comfort matters more than traffic. Loop pile leaves the yarn uncut in tight loops, which wears harder and hides footmarks better - the sensible choice for hallways, stairs and family rooms that never get a day off.
Carpet also does two things no hard floor can: it insulates, and it absorbs sound. In an apartment or a two-storey home that difference is obvious the day it goes down. Our team handles the measure, the underlay and the installation.

Carpet FAQ
1. Is wool carpet worth the extra cost?
In a room you sit in rather than walk through, usually yes. Wool resists crushing, holds its colour, soils less readily and lasts far longer than synthetic fibre. Our Auburn Ridge wool range carries a 15-year residential warranty, which tells you what it is built to do.
2. What is the difference between cut pile and loop pile carpet?
Cut pile has the loops sheared open for a soft, plush surface. Loop pile leaves them intact, which makes it more hard-wearing and better at hiding marks. Cut pile suits bedrooms; loop pile suits hallways and living areas.
3. Which carpet is best for high-traffic areas?
Loop pile, generally. The uncut loops resist crushing and flattening, so hallways, stairs and family rooms hold their look for longer.
4. How much does carpet cost per square metre?
It depends on the carpet you choose, the area, the underlay and whether the old flooring needs removing. Book a free measure and quote and we will give you an accurate figure rather than a guess.
5. How do I clean and maintain carpet?
Vacuum regularly - that is most of the job. Deal with spills straight away by blotting rather than rubbing, and have the carpet professionally cleaned periodically to lift the dirt vacuuming leaves behind.
6. Can carpet be laid over existing flooring?
Sometimes, if the existing floor is level, sound and dry. In most cases the old covering comes up first so the underlay and carpet sit properly. We will tell you which applies at the measure.
