Alexandria - Shore - 11mm Scroll Loop Pile Carpet

Shore is a warm mushroom-taupe sitting squarely in the middle of the Alexandria tonal range. Where Shell is a beige taupe, Shore leans further toward mushroom: a softer, slightly dustier brown-grey that behaves as a neutral but never reads cold. It is the colour that most often solves a mixed house: warm enough to sit with oak and tan leather, grey enough not to fight a cool grey sofa or stone benchtop. Against Flow it is plainer, with none of that colour's visible fleck. It is a strong choice for whole-of-house installation, main bedrooms and living areas where you want a mid tone that hides ordinary life without going dark.

This is Belgotex's Alexandria scroll loop pile: matte yarn tufted at varying loop heights so the floor carries a low linear texture across its surface. The effect is closer to a natural weave than to a conventional carpet, and it gives a plain mid tone the movement it needs over a large area.

On the practical side, this is a carpet built for real spills. The yarn is 100% solution dyed nylon, meaning colour is added at the point the fibre is made rather than dyed onto it afterwards, so the pigment goes all the way through the strand. Red wine, coffee and pet accidents can be treated hard, including with a diluted bleach solution, without leaving a faded ghost where you cleaned. The same property makes it sun-fast, so a rug or a piece of furniture moved after a few years will not reveal a darker rectangle underneath. Alexandria is rated Extra Heavy Duty Residential and Heavy Duty Commercial, with 4.0m roll width for fewer seams.
