Alexandria - Terra - 11mm Scroll Loop Pile Carpet

Terra is the palest colour in the Alexandria range: a warm cream-oatmeal that reads close to off-white in a bright, north-facing room and warms into a soft biscuit tone under evening light. There is no grey in it, and no pink either, which is what makes it the easiest colour here to lay beside crisp white walls, limewash and pale oak without either surface looking dull. If you want the same lightness with a little more warmth, Sandy sits a half-step pinker; if you want it cooler, Dune takes the same value across into greige. Terra belongs in formal living rooms, guest bedrooms and light-filled upper floors. It is not the colour for a busy entry hall with dogs and school bags. For that kind of traffic, look at Shell or Flow, where the deeper tone does more of the hiding for you.

Alexandria is Belgotex's scroll loop pile, woven in a matte yarn across several different loop heights so the surface breaks into a quiet linear texture rather than sitting as a flat field. That variation is the whole point. Broken loop heights scatter light, so footprints, vacuum lines and the shading that plagues plain cut piles simply do not register the same way. You get depth and movement in the floor without committing to a pattern, and it holds its look in open-plan spaces where the carpet runs a long way in one sweep.

The yarn is 100% solution dyed nylon, which means pigment is locked into the fibre while it is still liquid rather than applied to the outside of a finished strand. Cut a fibre in half and the colour runs all the way through. In practice that gives you a carpet you can clean with diluted bleach without lifting the colour, and one that will not bleach out in a sunny window: a genuine consideration in Sydney rooms with western glass. At 11.0mm total thickness it feels substantial underfoot, and the 4.0m roll width means most bedrooms and many living rooms lay without a seam at all.
