Parkview Gardens - Double Bay - 12.5mm Cut Pile Carpet

Sitting squarely in the middle of the Parkview Gardens palette, Double Bay is a mid cool grey-green, deep enough to anchor a room, muted enough that it still behaves like a neutral. It is the colour most often chosen for media rooms, upstairs living areas and offices, because it reads as a considered mid-grey from across the room while the green undertone stops it looking cold and institutional up close. Against Castle Cove it is the same green-grey family several shades deeper; against Mosman it is the cooler, less olive option; and against Rosebery it is the lighter, less dramatic one. If your walls are warm cream or biscuit it will look a little severe, and Mosman or Bronte will suit that scheme better.

Belgotex construct the range as a tufted cut pile in 100% stainproof solution dyed nylon on FusionBac. The stainproof nylon is doing quiet work in a mid-tone like this: dark enough to hide dust, light enough that a spilt glass of red would be obvious, so the ability to lift a spill off the surface before it sets is what keeps a room like this looking new.

Be clear on the build. Parkview Gardens is the 12.5mm half of Belgotex's colour crossover with Riverside Reserve, which carries the identical ten colour names at 17.0mm. The 12.5mm pile here is still soft to stand on, but it is noticeably firmer and more upright, so office chairs, stair traffic and the path from the door to the couch do not leave a permanent flattened lane. Combined with the flecked yarn that runs through the range, it is the more practical of the two builds by a clear margin.
