Parkview Gardens - Oatley - 12.5mm Cut Pile Carpet

Oatley is the most straightforwardly grey colour at the pale end of Parkview Gardens: a light-mid blue-grey with none of the green lean of Castle Cove and none of the warmth of Auburn. That neutrality is the point. It is the safe specification for apartments, rental refurbishments and new builds where the paint is a cool white and nobody wants the carpet making a statement, and it is the one colour in the pale half of the range that will never fight a blue or charcoal soft furnishing. The trade-off is that it can look a little flat and cool in a room with warm lamplight and no natural light; in that situation Auburn or Waverley will feel far more inviting. Step it darker in the same cool family and you are into Double Bay, then Mona Vale.

The construction is a Belgotex tufted cut pile in 100% stainproof solution dyed nylon, fixed to a FusionBac backing. Cut pile gives you the soft, upholstered surface most people picture when they think of carpet; the solution dyed nylon is what makes that surface survive a decade of vacuuming, sunlight and spot cleaning without shifting colour.

Take note of which build this is: Parkview Gardens is the 12.5mm half of Belgotex's colour crossover with Riverside Reserve, which offers the same ten colours at 17.0mm. Choose Parkview Gardens when the floor has to work: stair flights, upstairs landings, corridors, a home office chair, because the shorter, firmer pile keeps its shape under load and does not record every footprint. A fleck through the yarn helps disguise marks in between cleans. Rated Extra Heavy Duty Residential and Medium Duty Commercial with a CRF of 7.5kW/m2 to AS ISO 9239.1, low VOC emissions, no water used in solution dyeing, ISO 14001 environmental management and science-based emissions targets set.
