Riverside Reserve - Mosman - 17mm Cut Pile Carpet

Warm sage with an olive-grey base, Mosman is the colour in Riverside Reserve for people who have had enough of grey but do not want brown. The deep pile changes how it behaves: at 17.0mm the shadow between the tufts mutes the green slightly and gives it a soft, velvet-like depth, so it reads more sophisticated and less earthy than the same colour in the shorter Parkview Gardens build. It belongs in a main bedroom with sage or putty walls, brass hardware and warm timber, and it is dark enough to be practical in a formal sitting room. Compare it with Double Bay, which is the cooler, greyer mid-tone in this range, and with Rosebery, which is essentially this colour taken down to a deep sage-charcoal. In a hard, cool white scheme it can look a little muddy.

The build is a Belgotex tufted cut pile in 100% stainproof solution dyed nylon on a FusionBac backing. Olive greens are easy to get wrong in a synthetic fibre and easier still to lose to sunlight; solution dyeing colours the nylon before the yarn exists, so the sage note holds true through years of cleaning and daylight.

Understand which build you are buying. Riverside Reserve is Belgotex's 17.0mm construction, the deepest pile carpet in the entire Adore Rugs range, and it exists for one reason, which is the genuinely plush, sink-in feel underfoot in bedrooms, main suites and formal living rooms. The honest trade-off is that a pile this deep shows footprints and vacuum tracks, and it should not be used on stairs or through a high-traffic hallway. Parkview Gardens is the official colour crossover range carrying the identical ten colour names at 12.5mm, and Mosman in that firmer build is the right answer for stairs and traffic.
