Grande 9.0 - Chalk - 9mm Hybrid Flooring

At the pale end of Grande 9.0, Chalk is as close to white as a timber-look floor gets before it stops reading as timber at all — a whitewashed oak with fine grey grain drawn over an almost bone-white ground. It is a clear step lighter and cooler than Bella, and a different proposition entirely from Sand, which keeps its warmth. Coastal, Scandinavian and gallery-white interiors are its natural home, and it is superb at bouncing light around a dark apartment. It is not the board for a household with kids, pets and a back door that stays open.

The honest problem with a near-white floor is contrast: every dark crumb, every hair, every fleck of garden dirt announces itself. In return you get the strongest brightening effect of any board in the range, and in a small or south-facing room that can be worth the extra sweeping. Chalk performs best in bedrooms, studies and low-traffic living areas with good natural light, and least well in entry halls and kitchens. If you love the look but the traffic worries you, Bella gives you most of the lightness with meaningfully better forgiveness.

Underneath the decor, Grande 9.0 is a rigid SPC core carrying an LVT balance layer and a cushion pad, with 2mm of IXPE acoustic underlay already attached to the back — 9mm all up, and no separate underlay to buy or lay. The surface is protected by a 0.55mm wear layer and an anti-bacterial UV coating, and the 1500 x 230mm boards have micro-bevelled edges that define each plank once laid. They join on a precision click-lock profile and float over the existing floor. The core is waterproof, but a click-together floor is not a waterproof assembly and does not replace a waterproofing membrane — check with us before using it in a wet area.
