Ornato - Tuscany - 5.3mm Looselay Vinyl Plank

Biscuit and wheat rather than gold, Tuscany is a soft warm-neutral oak whose grain is so lightly drawn that from standing height the floor reads almost as a single tone. It is the quietest decor in the Ornato range. Blackbutt is cleaner and blonder with more visible fleck, Verona is cooler and sandier, and Tuscany sits between them with a faint biscuit warmth that stops it feeling cold. Choose it when the floor needs to recede completely - galleries, consulting rooms, apartments with strong joinery or bold rugs. Skip it if you want the floor to look like real timber at close range, because the low-contrast print is convincing across a room but plain underfoot.

A calm, low-variation floor is also the simplest kind to keep looking right over time, and looselay is what makes that possible. Since the planks are not clicked into one another or bonded to the substrate, any board can be lifted out on its own and a replacement laid in its place - and with a decor this even, the new plank is genuinely indistinguishable. Offices and shops rely on that: damage in a high-traffic line gets corrected board by board instead of prompting a full refloor.

The plank format is 178 x 1219mm at 5.3mm overall thickness. Inside it, a fibreglass core layer provides dimensional stability, which is what lets the floor sit flat by weight and friction without a locking edge. The top surface is a 0.50mm PU wear layer with a NanoSilver antibacterial coating, and the edge is squared so there is no bevel to collect dust. Installation is looselay and glueless, with minimal adhesive used over large open areas. It is rated R10 for slip resistance, insulates well for both sound and heat, and is suitable for use with underfloor heating. It is moisture resistant, though a looselay floor is not a waterproofing system, so please speak with us before specifying it in a bathroom or laundry.
