Sumptuous - English Toffee - 12mm Cut Pile Carpet

English Toffee is the only genuinely brown colour in Sumptuous: a warm mid brown with a true toffee tone to it, caramel rather than chocolate and with none of the grey that neutralises the rest of the palette. Elite, the closest colour in the range, is a taupe-brown that has been pulled back towards neutral; English Toffee commits. It is a deliberate choice rather than a background one, and it rewards rooms that already have warmth to build on: timber floors and joinery, leather, brass, cream and olive walls, wool and linen textures. In a cool contemporary interior of white walls, black frames and grey-blue accents it will fight the scheme, and Platinum or Porcelain are the neutrals to use there instead.

Belgotex specify Sumptuous with 100% Premium Soft Solution Dyed Nylon. The distinguishing word is soft. The yarn is engineered for comfort underfoot rather than for the maximum density you would want in a corridor, and tufted as a cut pile to 12.0mm total thickness it produces a deep, genuinely plush floor. Colour like this in a plush pile reads with real depth, because the length of the pile lets light fall differently across the surface. The trade-off that comes with any deep soft cut pile is footprint and vacuum marking, which shows more than it would on a loop or a patterned carpet. On a warm mid brown it is among the least obtrusive in the range, and in any case it brushes out. The colour will not move: solution dying introduces the pigment while the nylon is liquid, so it is inside the fibre rather than applied to it, making English Toffee stain proof and fade proof and able to take hard cleaning without patching. The FusionBac reinforced backing keeps the 4.0m broadloom stable, and the fire rating is CRF 2.6 kW/m2 tested to AS ISO 9239-1.

It is warranted for 15 years residential and 5 years commercial. Belgotex are ISO 14001 certified and have set Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) targets; solution dying uses no water, and the carpet is low VOC emitting. Supply and install available across Sydney.
