Sumptuous - Spell Bound - 12mm Cut Pile Carpet

Spell Bound is a very dark, near-black charcoal, deeper than Whisper, which still reads as a charcoal grey, and just short of Dreamy, which is a true black. It keeps the faintest amount of grey in it, enough that in daylight you can see it is charcoal rather than black, and in lamplight it reads as black. This is a floor for rooms you want to feel enclosed and cinematic: a media room, a study, a main bedroom with pale walls and a strong contrast between floor and ceiling. It is not a colour for a small or poorly lit space, where it will make the room feel lower and tighter, and Whisper or Platinum will carry the same mood with more light left in the room.

Sumptuous is Belgotex's soft-handle Premium SDN range, and the yarn is what sets it apart from a standard cut pile. It is 100% Premium Soft Solution Dyed Nylon, engineered around softness underfoot rather than around maximum density, and tufted to a 12.0mm total thickness. A dark colour in a pile this deep has real presence. The plushness gives the surface a slight sheen shift as light moves across it, which is part of the appeal. The intended rooms are bedrooms, main suites and living areas rather than stairs and hallways, which is why Belgotex rate it Extra Heavy Duty Residential but only Medium Duty Commercial.

Two honest notes on a dark plush carpet. It shows footprints and vacuum marks more than a loop or patterned carpet does, and pale lint and dust are more visible against it than against a mid tone. Both are cosmetic and vacuum away. In exchange it hides soiling and traffic marks better than anything pale in the range. The colour is protected by solution dying, with pigment added to the nylon in liquid form, so Spell Bound is stain proof and fade proof and resists the sun-greying that dark carpets otherwise suffer near glazing. FusionBac reinforced backing stabilises the 4.0m broadloom; fire rating CRF 2.6 kW/m2 to AS ISO 9239-1.

Warranty is 15 years residential and 5 years commercial. Belgotex hold ISO 14001 certification and have set Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) targets, solution dying uses no water, and the carpet is low VOC emitting. Supply and install available across Sydney.
