Swish Laminate - Fawn - 12mm Laminate Flooring

Fawn is not the soft light tan its name suggests. On the swatch it is a mid-to-dark greyed brown - a cool, smoky walnut tone with restrained grain and very little warmth in it - and it is one of the two darkest decors in the Swish Bespoke range alongside Jarrah. Set it beside Linden and the difference is depth rather than temperature: both are cool, but Fawn is several shades darker. It suits high-contrast interiors with white walls and pale joinery, and rooms that need the floor to ground them. If a genuine light greige is what you are after, Nutmeg and Vivid are the boards in this range that provide it.

Dark cool floors ask more of a cleaning routine than mid-tones do - dust and pale pet hair show on them within a day - but they hide scuffs and dark marks well, which is a fair trade in a hallway that takes real traffic. Fawn needs decent natural light to look its best; in a small south-facing room it will absorb more light than it gives back, and the grey in it can flatten out to a muddy brown under warm globes.

This decor sits on the Swish Bespoke platform: a 12mm board measuring 1518 x 236mm, matt-finished, micro-bevelled on four sides and embossed in register. EIR is worth understanding - the embossing plate is registered to the printed decor, so the grain you run your hand across is the grain you are looking at, not a generic texture stamped over the top. It turns up elsewhere in this catalogue, but it is the single clearest upgrade over flat-printed laminate at this thickness. Boards lock with Välinge 2G and float over underlay without adhesive, which also means an individual board can be lifted and replaced later.

Swish Bespoke is rated AC4 for abrasion, certified E1 for VOC emissions, and specified for dry interior areas of private homes and commercial establishments - not for bathrooms, laundries or anywhere regularly wet.
