XXL 8.0 - Oak Atlanta - 8mm Hybrid Flooring

Oak Atlanta is the diplomat of XXL 8.0 — a mid greige with soft brown warmth underneath, muted grain and almost no plank-to-plank drama. Oak Sofia is lighter and cooler with far more visible variation; Walnut Brown carries much more grain contrast. It is the board to specify when a scheme has several competing materials to reconcile, or when the interior design is not finished and the floor needs to stay flexible. Anyone hoping for a floor with visible character or a strong timber identity should look elsewhere in the range.

Mid greiges are the sweet spot for looking clean. The tone is dark enough to absorb light dust and pale enough to absorb dark grit, and the muted grain quietly takes care of surface scratching. That combination makes Oak Atlanta a genuinely low-maintenance choice for hallways, open-plan living and rental properties alike. It also behaves well under changing light, holding roughly the same colour from morning daylight through to evening lamps, where cooler greys can drift blue after dark.

Structurally, XXL 8.0 is a floating hybrid at 8mm, of which 1.5mm is IXPE acoustic underlay bonded to the board at the factory. The plank is the headline: 1511 x 229mm, with micro-bevelled edges and a Välinge 5G locking profile that pulls the joins tight and holds them. The wearing surface is a 0.55mm layer under an anti-bacterial UV coating. The rigid core is waterproof, but a click-together floor is not a waterproof assembly and is no substitute for a waterproofing membrane — talk to us before putting it into a wet area.
