Alexandria - Dune - 11mm Scroll Loop Pile Carpet

Dune is a light greige: the cool-side neutral of the Alexandria range, and the colour to reach for when a scheme is built on grey. It sits at roughly the same lightness as Sandy but drops the pink warmth, which is exactly why it works under grey-veined stone, cool white paint, black tapware and mid-grey joinery, where a warmer beige would look slightly off. Against Terra it reads a touch deeper and distinctly less creamy. It is not a cold colour. There is still enough beige in it to stop a room feeling severe, but if you are after genuine warmth underfoot, Sandy or Shore will serve you better. Dune is a safe, quiet choice for bedrooms, media rooms and whole-floor installations where you want the carpet to recede.

Alexandria is Belgotex's take on the scroll loop pile: matte yarn tufted at several loop heights so the surface carries a low linear texture instead of reading as one flat plane. It is a construction that suits a restrained colour like Dune, because the interest comes from the light moving across the loops rather than from the colour itself.

Loop pile is also the harder-wearing format. There are no cut tuft ends to splay and flatten under traffic, so the carpet keeps its original surface much longer in the places that take a beating: stair treads, the turn at the bottom of a hallway, the path from the kitchen to the lounge. Alexandria is rated Extra Heavy Duty Residential and Heavy Duty Commercial, and the fire performance is tested to AS/ISO 9239-1 at CRF 5.3kW/m². The yarn is 100% solution dyed nylon, so colour is locked into the fibre itself: bleach-cleanable for the bad spills, and genuinely fade-resistant under Australian sun.
