Riverside Reserve - Castle Cove - 17mm Cut Pile Carpet

Castle Cove here is a pale cool grey-green with a fleck through the yarn, softer and less definite than the same name in the shorter Parkview Gardens build, because a 17.0mm pile diffuses light and takes some of the crispness out of a cool colour. That suits it. In a main bedroom with grey-toned oak, cool white walls and linen bedding it looks restful rather than clinical, and the fleck keeps it from going flat under downlights. Compared with Oatley in this range, Castle Cove leans green where Oatley leans blue; compared with Auburn, it is clearly the cool option and will look wrong against cream-based joinery. Double Bay is the mid-grey step down from it if you want more weight underfoot visually.

Riverside Reserve is a Belgotex tufted cut pile in 100% stainproof solution dyed nylon on FusionBac backing. Solution dyeing places the colour inside the nylon filament itself, which is why a pale flecked grey-green holds its exact character years in rather than drifting warm or washing out along a sunlit edge.

The number that matters is 17.0mm. This is the deepest pile carpet in the entire Adore Rugs catalogue, and that depth is the reason to choose Riverside Reserve over anything else: it is properly plush, a sink-in surface for bedrooms, main suites and formal living rooms. The trade-off deserves to be said plainly. A pile this deep shows footprints and vacuum tracks, and it is the wrong carpet for stairs or a hard-working hallway.
