Ornato Blackbutt is the palest of the warm Australian looks in this range: a sandy blonde field with fine, tightly spaced grain and only the occasional darker fleck, printed to mimic native blackbutt rather than a European oak. It sits close to Tuscany and Verona at first glance, but where Tuscany leans biscuit and Verona carries a faint grey wash, Blackbutt keeps a clean golden-neutral tone that stays light even under warm downlights. It is a strong choice for north-facing living rooms, small apartments and anywhere you want the floor to disappear underfoot and let joinery do the talking. It is a poor choice if you want visible character or a floor that hides fine dust and pale pet hair, because both show readily on a surface this light.

A pale floor is also the one most likely to be changed or damaged in a fitout, and that is where looselay earns its place. Individual planks sit flat by their own weight and friction rather than being locked or bonded down, so a scuffed or gouged board near a doorway can be lifted out and swapped for a spare in minutes, with no saw, no glue line and no disturbance to the boards around it. The edges are squared, so planks butt tightly without a bevel catching dirt. Installation is glueless across most residential rooms, with minimal adhesive used around perimeters and over large open areas. A NanoSilver antibacterial coating is applied to the surface, the floor is rated R10 for slip, and the mass of the plank gives genuinely good sound and heat insulation.
