Ornato - Florence - 5.3mm Looselay Vinyl Plank

Think of a clean, mid-tone honey oak with a golden core and very little colour variation from plank to plank - that is Florence. It is one of three warm blondes in this collection and the easiest to mix up with Le Mans and Vittoria, so it is worth being precise: Le Mans is a touch softer and more apricot, Vittoria is deeper amber with visible knots and rustic splits, and Florence sits between them with a smooth, evenly figured grain and no strong character marks. It is the safe warm floor for family homes, display suites and anywhere a decorator wants timber warmth without a statement. If you are chasing a rustic, reclaimed or heavily varied look, Florence will read as too tidy.

Consistency like this has a practical payoff when the floor is looselay. Because planks lie flat under their own weight rather than clicking into their neighbours, replacing one is only as convincing as how well it matches the rest of the room - and an evenly toned decor like Florence blends a new board in almost invisibly. That makes it a genuinely low-risk specification for offices, shops and tenanted properties, where the ability to swap a damaged plank without touching the surrounding floor is the whole point.

The plank itself measures 178 x 1219mm at 5.3mm thick, with a fibreglass core layer running through it to resist expansion and contraction and keep the board flat without a mechanical lock. A 0.50mm PU wear layer handles daily traffic, a NanoSilver antibacterial coating is applied to the surface, and the squared edge gives a flush, board-to-board finish. It installs looselay and glueless, with minimal adhesive introduced only across large open areas. Slip resistance is rated R10, sound and heat insulation are both excellent for a floor of this thickness, and the product is suitable over underfloor heating. It is moisture resistant, though a looselay floor is not a waterproofing system - please talk to us before specifying it for a bathroom or laundry.
