Ornato - Tivoli - 5.3mm Looselay Vinyl Plank

Light to mid honey oak with a gentle golden glow, Tivoli is the middle ground between the pale blondes and the deeper ambers in this collection. Against Le Mans it is a shade stronger and less apricot; against Vittoria it is considerably cleaner, without the knots and splits that give Vittoria its rustic edge. The grain is present but understated, so the floor holds warmth across a whole open-plan level without ever demanding attention. It is a natural fit for project homes, new builds and rental properties where the floor has to please a wide audience. If your brief calls for something with real personality or a strongly contemporary grey, this is not it.

The broad appeal is part of why Tivoli works so well as a looselay floor. Planks are held down by mass and friction instead of a click joint or full adhesive bed, which means a landlord or facilities manager can keep a few spare boards in a cupboard and deal with damage as it happens - one plank out, one plank in, no specialist tools, no visible repair. Over a ten year tenancy cycle that approach costs a fraction of relaying a bonded or interlocking floor, and the room stays usable the entire time.

The plank is 178 x 1219mm and 5.3mm thick. Rather than relying on a locking profile for stability, it uses an internal fibreglass core layer to stay flat and dimensionally consistent as temperatures move. The decor is covered by a 0.50mm PU wear layer and a NanoSilver antibacterial coating, and the squared edges let boards butt together without a bevel groove. Installation is looselay and glueless, with minimal adhesive used over large open areas. It is rated R10 for slip, provides excellent sound and heat insulation, and can be laid over underfloor heating. It is moisture resistant, although a looselay floor is not a waterproofing system - talk to us before you specify it for a bathroom or laundry.
