Parkview Gardens - Auburn - 12.5mm Cut Pile Carpet

Auburn is the second-palest colour in Parkview Gardens, a warm greige-cream that sits in the narrow gap between a cream and a soft grey. A fleck is worked through the yarn, so rather than one flat tone you get a faintly broken surface that quietly absorbs the lint, crumbs and footmarks a plain pale carpet puts on display. That makes it the sensible choice for main bedrooms, guest rooms and whole-upstairs jobs in homes built around warm timber, oak floors or beige-based paint. What it will not do is read as a crisp white: Sea Forth is the paler, cleaner option for that, and it will argue with a cool blue-grey scheme, where Castle Cove or Oatley are the more honest match.

Belgotex build Parkview Gardens as a tufted cut pile in 100% stainproof solution dyed nylon over a FusionBac backing. The stainproof treatment and the solution dyed fibre together are what make a colour this light a reasonable proposition rather than a leap of faith: spills sit up on the surface long enough to be lifted, and the colour cannot be bleached out of the yarn because it was never sitting on top of it in the first place.

At 12.5mm total thickness this is the firmer half of the Parkview Gardens and Riverside Reserve crossover pair. Riverside Reserve carries the identical ten colour names at 17.0mm for a deep, sink-in feel. Parkview Gardens takes the same palette and builds it shorter and denser, so it recovers its shape in hallways, wears evenly through doorways and shows vacuum tracks far less. It is rated Extra Heavy Duty Residential and Medium Duty Commercial, with a fire rating of CRF 7.5kW/m2 to AS ISO 9239.1. Manufactured with low VOC emissions and a solution dyeing process that uses no water, under ISO 14001 environmental management with science-based emissions targets set.
