Sumptuous - Luxe - 12mm Cut Pile Carpet

Luxe is a mid warm mushroom-taupe: the colour of a raw linen curtain or a dried mushroom cap, with more brown in it than Cloud Nine and less than Elite. It is the true middle of the Sumptuous neutrals: warm enough to soften a room, muted enough that it never insists on being noticed. Against Platinum, a mid cool grey, Luxe is obviously the warmer of the two; against Elite it is the lighter and less brown. It works with oak and ash flooring, warm white and greige walls, linen, wool and rattan. Where it will not sit comfortably is in a sharply cool interior of blue-grey and black, where its mushroom warmth reads muddy. Platinum or Porcelain are the neutrals for that room.

Belgotex make Sumptuous with 100% Premium Soft Solution Dyed Nylon, and the emphasis on soft is deliberate. The yarn is engineered for hand and comfort underfoot rather than for maximum density, and tufted as a cut pile to a 12.0mm total thickness it produces a deep, plush floor with obvious cushioning. This is the reason to specify Sumptuous over a tighter construction: it is the carpet you want in a bedroom, a main suite or a living room where people sit on the floor, not the one you want fighting traffic on a staircase.

The honest counterpoint is that a soft deep pile records footprints and vacuum tracks. In a mid tone like Luxe this reads as gentle shading rather than anything alarming, and it brushes out, but a loop pile or a patterned carpet will hold a more uniform look if that is your priority. What does not change is the colour. Solution dying introduces the pigment into the liquid nylon, so it is locked into the fibre rather than sitting on it: Luxe is stain proof and fade proof and tolerates hard cleaning. FusionBac reinforced backing keeps the 4.0m broadloom stable, and Belgotex rate the range Extra Heavy Duty Residential, Medium Duty Commercial, with a CRF of 2.6 kW/m2 tested to AS ISO 9239-1.
