Swish Aqua - Oak Ostana - 12.3mm Laminate Flooring

Oak Ostana is a pale blush oak - light, very even, and warmer than it first appears, with a soft pink-beige cast running through the whole board and grain that reads as fine texture rather than pattern. It is not the cool alpine white the name suggests. Oak Fremont is the comparison worth making, and the two separate on colour rather than depth: Fremont is olive and dusty, Ostana is clean and pink-warm. It suits soft contemporary interiors, warm white and putty walls, and rooms that want a pale floor without a grey cast. If you want a genuinely cool pale floor, Oak Vermont and Vincentia Oak are the boards to look at.

Pale floors make rooms feel larger and brighter, and Ostana does that with a warmth that photographs kindly under both daylight and warm artificial light. Its very even grain is the one thing to be aware of: with little pattern to hide behind, dark grit and scuff marks show more readily than they would on a busier decor, so mats at external doors do real work here.

Swish Laminate Aqua is a 12.3mm laminate on a long 2200 x 196mm board - a genuinely long plank that stretches a room visually and cuts the number of end joints across a floor. Edges are micro-bevelled and boards join with the Välinge 5G locking profile, a drop-and-lock system that floats glueless over underlay without tapping blocks. The functional difference is the Aqua core, which resists moisture instead of swelling at the first spill. That is resistance, not waterproofing - laminate is never waterproof - so talk to us before specifying it for a bathroom or laundry. For kitchens, entries and family living it is far more forgiving than a conventional laminate core.

Packs cover 2.16 m2 across five boards at 23kg, VOC emissions are rated below E1, and the range is suitable for interior areas of private homes and commercial establishments, with a 25 year warranty for private use. Supply and install available across Sydney.
