What is in the range
Hybrid6.5mm to 10mm, rigid core with pre-attached acoustic backing, waterproof through the board. The everyday default for most of the homes we quote.
Laminate8mm and 12mm, including water resistant ranges rated for wet areas. The most cost effective way to get a convincing timber look over a large floor area.
Engineered timberReal oak or Australian hardwood veneer over a stable plywood core, floating or glue-down, in plank, herringbone and chevron. It can be sanded and recoated later in its life.
Vinyl plank and tileIncluding looselay, which can be lifted and relaid. Useful in rentals and in rooms where the subfloor may need access later.
Broadloom carpetWool and solution dyed nylon, cut pile and loop pile. Still the best answer for a bedroom that needs to feel warm and quiet.
Carpet tilesCommercial specifications for offices, gyms and rental properties. A damaged tile gets swapped rather than the room getting recarpeted.
Three ways to buy
You do not have to buy the labour with the boards. The right route depends on your budget, your timeline and how handy you are.
-
Supply and install
We measure, quote, order and lay it. One point of contact, one invoice, and the responsibility for the finished result sits with us. Best if the job involves stairs, a subfloor that needs work, herringbone, or glue-down engineered timber, all of which punish inexperience.
Details of how we run an install are on our flooring installation page.
-
Supply only, and you lay it
Buy the product, take it away or have it delivered, do the work yourself. Floating floors are DIY-able in a straightforward rectangular room with no height transitions. Plenty of our customers have laid their own bedrooms and hallways and been happy with them.
We will still measure the space for you if you want the quantities checked before you commit. Getting the order wrong is the expensive part of DIY, not the laying.
-
Bring your own installer
You have a trade contact, a family member in the game, or a builder already on site. Buy the flooring from us and have them lay it. We stay available through the job: if your installer hits something unexpected, they can call us or come in, and we will work through it with them.
Tell us at the point of order that you are going this way, so the underlay, trims and any transition profiles go out with the product rather than becoming a second trip.
Choosing by room
- Kitchens, laundries, bathrooms. Hybrid or vinyl. Both handle standing water in a way laminate and timber do not. Water resistant laminate is a middle option if the room only ever sees splashes.
- Hallways and living areas. Anything hard wearing. Look at the wear layer figure rather than the total thickness, because that top layer is what takes the traffic.
- Bedrooms. Carpet still wins on comfort and on sound. If you want a hard floor upstairs, acoustic underlay matters more than it does on a slab.
- Apartments. Check your strata by-laws before you buy. Most buildings set a minimum acoustic rating for hard flooring, and it is cheaper to know that first.
- Offices, gyms, rental properties. Carpet tiles. A damaged tile gets swapped rather than the room getting recarpeted.
If you are laying it yourself
Five things that account for most DIY floors going wrong.
- Acclimatise the boards. Leave the unopened packs flat in the room for 48 hours before you start. A floor laid cold and tight will buckle when the room warms up.
- Leave the expansion gap. Every wall, every door frame, every fixed cabinet. Skirting or scotia covers it afterwards. A floating floor that is pinned at one edge has nowhere to move.
- Check the substrate for level before you open a single pack. A long straight edge and a spirit level will tell you in ten minutes. Hollows get self-levelled, not ignored.
- Use the right underlay. Some hybrids have it pre-attached and adding more voids the warranty. Check the spec sheet on the product page.
- Order about 10% over. Cuts, waste and the occasional damaged board are normal. Coming back for one extra pack risks a different batch with a slightly different shade.
Samples, measures and getting it home
Come into the showroom at 111 Station Road, Auburn, and see the boards in daylight rather than under a screen. Colour on a monitor is unreliable, particularly on greys and on anything with a grey-brown cast.
Measure and quote are free whichever of the three routes you take. Flooring is heavy and is charged for delivery, so pickup is worth considering on smaller jobs. Our free Australia-wide delivery applies to rugs, not to flooring.

Common questions
Can I change my mind and have you install it after all?
Yes, as long as the product has not been opened and cut. Call us before you start.
Do you sell underlay, trims and scotia separately?
Yes, along with door bars, stair nosings and adhesive. These are the things DIY orders most often forget.
What warranty do I get if I lay it myself?
The manufacturer's product warranty still applies. What you do not get is a workmanship warranty, which is the part that covers the laying rather than the boards. Manufacturers can decline a claim where the failure was caused by installation, so follow the spec sheet.
How much do I need?
Length by width of each room, added together, plus about 10%. Bring your dimensions in or ask for a measure and we will do it properly.
Do you work with builders?
Regularly. Talk to Nas about trade pricing and lead times on multi-property jobs.

Wheat is a light warm golden-tan, brighter than Oak Natural and warmer than Porcelain, sitting in the gap between the pale and the golden ends of the Easi-Plank Herringbone range. It is the colour to choose when you want a...
AVAILABILITY: In stock (1000 items)
Porcelain is the palest colour in the Easi-Plank Herringbone range: a warm cream-greige, lighter than Pewter and with warmth where Pewter is cool. That warmth is what makes it the easier of the two pale options to live with: it...
AVAILABILITY: In stock (1000 items)
Red Stone is the darkest and most characterful colour in the Easi-Plank Herringbone range: a mid-dark reddish brown with grey smoked through it, so the red never becomes orange. It is the closest thing here to a traditional stained parquetry...
AVAILABILITY: In stock (1000 items)
Grey Stone is the cool grey of the Easi-Plank Herringbone range: a mid tone with clear striation running through each block and enough contrast to keep the pattern legible from standing height. Grey and herringbone is a combination that can...
AVAILABILITY: In stock (1000 items)
Barnside is a soft mid greige-brown with gentle grain and low plank-to-plank contrast: the most restrained colour in the Easi-Plank Herringbone range, and the one that lets the pattern do the work. That matters more in herringbone than in any...
AVAILABILITY: In stock (1000 items)
Classic Spotted Gum is the richest colour in the Easi-Plank Herringbone range: a golden amber with dark grain streaking that carries the warmth and variation of the species. In herringbone it reads as a genuinely traditional parquetry floor, the kind...
AVAILABILITY: In stock (1000 items)
Natural Blackbutt is the pale golden option in the Easi-Plank Herringbone range: a light board with the soft olive cast that makes blackbutt read as Australian rather than generic oak. It is the brightest colour here, and in herringbone that...
AVAILABILITY: In stock (1000 items)
Oak Natural is the straightforward warm oak of the Easi-Plank Herringbone range: a mid golden-tan with even grain and no stain pulling it grey or red. It is the most conventional colour here and, for a herringbone floor, often the...
AVAILABILITY: In stock (1000 items)
Natural on the 8mm Oakleaf HD Plus board: the same light warm tan-beige oak with open knots and honest grain movement as the 12mm version. It is the most characterful of the pale colours in the range, and the knots...
AVAILABILITY: In stock (1000 items)
Wolf Grey on the 8mm Oakleaf HD Plus board. As on the 12mm, it is warmer than the name implies: a mid greige-taupe with a clear brown undertone and visible grain, rather than the cool grey most people picture. That...
AVAILABILITY: In stock (1000 items)
Spotted Gum on the 8mm Oakleaf HD Plus board: the same mid warm brown with a reddish cast and strong striping through the grain as the 12mm version. It is a fair reading of the species, which runs honey through...
AVAILABILITY: In stock (1000 items)
Delta Sand on the 8mm Oakleaf HD Plus board. As on the 12mm, the name misleads: this is a pale cool grey-white with a faint lilac cast, not the warm sandy tone it suggests. It is one of the coolest...
AVAILABILITY: In stock (1000 items)
Blackbutt on the 8mm Oakleaf HD Plus board: the same light warm golden-tan with a soft, even grain as the 12mm version, and the same restrained reading of the species that makes it more convincing than the heavily saturated golden-ambers...

Bedrock on the 8mm Oakleaf HD Plus board: the same rich mid-dark warm brown as the 12mm version, with real depth in the grain and strong tonal movement from plank to plank. The decor is identical; the difference is the...

This is Alpine Mist on the 8mm Oakleaf HD Plus board: the same light warm blonde-beige oak as the 12mm version, with the same soft grain movement and gentle sandy cast. The decor is identical; what changes is the board...

Windsor is the cool pale in the Preference Floors Oakleaf HD Plus range: a soft greige-taupe with grey running through the grain and low, even contrast between planks. It is the board to choose when the room is already warm...
AVAILABILITY: In stock (1000 items)
Bellmore Oak is a light warm blonde-tan: brighter and cleaner than Hampton Oak, with the same open knots but less depth of colour, so it lifts a room rather than warming it up. It sits in the useful middle of...

Hampton Oak is the warmest of the mid-tone boards in the Preference Floors Oakleaf HD Plus range: a honey-tan oak with clear grain, open knots and enough tonal movement between planks to carry a large floor without looking repetitive. It...
