Aquastop Laminate Flooring
Aquastop is Preference Floors' water resistant laminate, made by Kronoswiss, and Adore stocks it in three thicknesses. They are close to three separate ranges rather than one range in three depths, because the colours barely overlap and the board sizes are not the same.
Aquastop 8mm runs eight colours on a 1380 x 193mm plank, with a carton covering 2.131m2: Blackbutt, Dublin, Helsinki, Lugano, Natural Oak Grey, Spotted Gum, Strasbourg and Zermatt. Aquastop 12mm holds seven colours on the same plank size, but a carton covers 1.332m2, so the same room takes noticeably more boxes: Artisan Oak Beige, Blackbutt, Bright, Oak Adaja, Spotted Gum, Urban Oak Natural and Zermatt. Aquastop 14mm is the only wide board at 2025 x 244mm, 1.482m2 a carton, in Beach, Dune, Elegant, Forest, Moon, Quiet, Rock and Snow.
All three are rated AC5 for abrasion, a step above the AC4 that is common in laminate at this level, and all three carry a V4 micro bevel on an HDF core certified to EN 13329 and EN 14041 at E1 emissions. Water protection is where they part company. The 8mm and 12mm boards hold out topical spills for 48 hours; the 14mm is the only one rated to 72. Warranty is the same across the range: 35 years limited structural and 5 years limited commercial.
Only three decors are made in more than one thickness. Blackbutt, Spotted Gum and Zermatt are produced in both 8mm and 12mm, so if you like one of those you can choose the board depth separately from the colour. The 14mm palette stands entirely on its own. Preference has flagged Forest as phasing out, so order it for the whole job rather than counting on a top-up later.
Laminate is not a wet area floor. Preference publishes specific installation requirements for bathrooms, laundries and powder rooms, so check those before laying it in one.
Supply and install across Sydney, supply only if you are laying it yourself, or supply with support for your own installer. Free measure and quote available.
AquaStop sits with Oakleaf HD Plus and Oakleaf in the laminate side of our Preference Floors range.

Like the Blackbutt decor, this one carries a species name the board does not quite live up to. Aquastop Spotted Gum is a mid warm brown with a grey overlay and noticeable plank-to-plank variation, some boards redder than others. Real...
